Chiropractic Techniques & Treatment
Dr. Denise uses a myriad of gentle techniques to treat patients of all ages and conditions
** THOMPSON DROP TECHNIQUE- Utilizes a table with segmented "drop" pieces that lift and uses the patient's body weight and gravity along with gentle pressure to glide misaligned spinal bones into place.
**ACTIVATOR TECHNIQUE-Uses a special hand held instrument to gently and precisely move vertebrae into place. The instrument has several settings and can be used on infants and children, extremities and the spine. This is a great technique for patient's who prefer not to hear the "noise" of adjustments when gas is released from the vertebral joint space upon realignment.
**DIVERSIFIED TECHNIQUE-Diversified Technique is the most widely used and accepted chiropractic adjusting technique. It is the primary technique taught at Chiropractic schools across the country. Diversified technique is characterized by a very precise high velocity, low amplitude manual thrust. Its objective is to restore proper movement and alignment to the spine. It is a highly useful technique to restore joint dysfunction. This efficient and effective technique is used to move a joint into it’s proper alignment.
** KOREN SPECIFIC TECHNIQUE- Basic Level Certified- A 3 step technique that utilizes the 1.Challenge, 2. Check, 3. Correct procedure to identify and apply gentle, specific corrections to the spine and structural system utilizing the Arthrostim hand held adjusting tool.
**ARTHROSTIM DEVICE-An Arthrostim® adjustment involves the use of a special hand held instrument. It has an appearance similar to a drill, and is held in a similar manner. What it does is produce a speedy thrust and recoil motion, similar to the way a chiropractor uses their hands to adjust the vertebrae in your back. The benefit of the instrument is that it performs this high-velocity, low-amplitude motion 12 times per second, and is targeted to a very small area. The force of the thrust radiates through the joint and the tissues that surround it, releasing trigger points that are often the cause of muscle spasms. Patient's report this instrument feels like they are being "massaged" as their muscles relax.
**Trained in the WEBSTER TECHNIQUE: a safe and effective chiropractic technique for expectant mothers, it is used to restore proper pelvic balance and function; allowing the baby to get into the best possible position for birth. In expectant mothers presenting breech there has been a high reported success rate of the baby turning to the normal vertex position. This technique has been successfully used in women whose babies present transverse and posterior as well.
